The 11th edition of Greenberg's Handbook of Neurosurgery is available for pre-order, and will be shipping in the Americas on August 21, and everywhere else in late September.
I designed the cover illustration which is a representation of human brain depicted as a collage constructed from over 75 individual elements, most of which are medical imaging studies and the rest are comprised of non-medical objects. Each non-medical object has a link to the number 11 in honor of the eleventh edition, and this forms the basis of a contest that I am sponsoring (see below)*.
We are planning a book signing at the annual meeting of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons in Washington, D.C. on Monday, November 2nd, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. I hope to meet some of you then (no purchase necessary!).
General information about the eleventh edition
The 11th edition of Greenberg's Handbook of Neurosurgery is the culmination of 3 years of work since the publication of the 10th edition. Inside the book you will find lots of updates and new material. I am really excited about this publication.
This edition welcomes Dr. Nitin Agarwal, as associate editor. For the eleventh edition, Dr. Agarwal provided helpful proofreading for errors as well as making suggestions for material to delete and sections that I needed to update.
One of the significant changes in this edition is the moving of the literature citations from the printed book to online links, accessible through use of QR codes provided at the end of every section. The citations remain within the chapters of the digital version which is included with the purchase of the printed book.
